Si Mike ang may-akda ng Last Look Back, ang kanyang two-volume memoir kunsaan kuwinento niya ang kanyang journey bilang filmmaker.

Bahagi nito ang kinalakihan niyang LVN Pictures, ang film studio na itinatag noong 1938 ng kanyang lola na si Doña Narcisa “Sisang” de Leon, na nagprodyus ng mga pelikula at nagpasikat ng maraming artista. Bukod sa kanyang body of works, no holds barred pati ang mga salaysay niya tungkol sa mga dinaanan niyang pagsubok. Ngayong Martes, November 15, 2022, naglabas ng pahayag si Mike tungkol sa kanyang desisyong kanselahin ang paglalabas ng libro dahil sa mga pagkakamali umanong natuklasan niya. Pahayag ni Mike sa kanyang social media post: "Due to my discovery of so many defective copies of my book, a clear result of poor quality control and sheer uncaring negligence by Primex Printers, I am constrained to cancel the book launch on December 10 and all pre-orders. "All bad copies of the book will be destroyed considerably reducing the number of copies that can still be sold, but only online. "When, I don’t know? Perhaps next month, next year, or never. "I will file damages against this printing company, including mental and emotional anguish. "They have trashed several years of my work and they must be held accountable." "The book has been three years in the making. I worked on it intermittently, for the simple reason that I am not a professional writer.

"I stopped work on it when I started a new (film) feature, Unfinished Business, but this was aborted by the pandemic lockdown in March 2020.

"This left me no choice but to go back to the book. I owe its completion to two people, Patrick Campos, my editor, and my American writer/friend, Aaron Hunt."
